Bio

Rebecca Collins/

I have a background in fine art and received my B.F.A. from the University of North Texas way back in 1985. Back then an apple was something you placed in a still life and a mouse was vermin that did not pay rent in your low-rent apartment. I fell in love with the Mac in the mid 90's while publishing my own line of greeting cards. In 1998 I left the greeting card industry and started an on-line pet portraiture company called Art Paw. Over the years I have immortalized thousands of four-legged friends and have taken on a variety of commercial projects as well.

The Work/

My commercial artwork is all created on the computer in Photoshop using an electronic drawing tablet by Wacom. I love bold color and line. I try very hard to stay ahead of the pack by constantly learning more about my tools. I also draw and sketch with old fashion pencil and paper. I love figure drawing and find that all my non-commercial work fuels my creativity in my portraiture business.

I like the web ... a lot. Here are a few places where I dabble. You could call them ego links, you could call them over-saturation. I call them my web out-posts.
